Hidden in plain sight
Not everything in nature reveals itself immediately.
Some of its most intricate details live beneath the surface, hidden in quieter places where light moves differently.
That was the inspiration behind Underwood.
A watch defined not by bold first impressions, but by subtle complexity discovered over time.

A quieter expression of green
Where some dials demand attention instantly, Underwood takes a different approach. From a distance, its muted green appears calm and composed. But beneath the enamel lies a dense hand engraved sterling silver landscape, made up of countless tiny organic markings that transform the way the dial interacts with light.
Rather than sharp reflections or dramatic flashes, Underwood shimmers in softer, more natural ways. Almost like filtered light moving through layers of foliage.

Crafted by hand
Each Underwood dial begins as a solid piece of sterling silver. It is then individually hand engraved with countless tiny markings that create the subtle texture hidden beneath the enamel. Rather than relying on dramatic geometry, Underwood’s complexity comes from these finer details, creating a softer and more organic interaction with light.
Layer by layer, enamel is applied and fired until the final surface takes shape.
The result is a dial that feels calm at first glance, yet richly intricate up close.
Designed to be discovered
Some watches make their statement instantly. Underwood chooses a different path. Its details are not meant to be consumed in a single glance, but discovered gradually through wear, movement, and changing light. It is a more intimate kind of watch. One that becomes more rewarding the longer you spend with it.

Inspired by history
Vitreum’s distinctive numerals were born from a desire to create something unmistakably Scandinavian, without relying on the familiar clichés of modern minimalism.
That journey led us to the Hauksbók, an Icelandic manuscript from around 1310, containing some of the earliest known uses of Hindu-Arabic numerals in Scandinavia.
Inspired by these remarkable forms, we created our own numeral language in-house, reimagining a small piece of Scandinavian history for the modern wrist.
Availability & Delivery
FH01 Underwood represents a new way of approaching our more accessible creations.
Rather than remaining permanently available, pieces like Underwood will appear in small, carefully controlled releases. This allows us to preserve the craftsmanship, creativity, and ownership experience we believe a Vitreum watch should offer.
This private release marks Underwood’s first public appearance.
If any pieces remain after this allocation, Underwood may be introduced more broadly at a later date. Realistically, this group gets first and best access
Estimated delivery: August 2026.
