DARK SKIES

A STORM IS BREWING

The FH01 Dark Skies was never part of the plan, but sometimes the best results come from the unexpected. What began as a simple test with a darker enamel revealed something far more atmospheric. A deep grey tone that gave the engraved texture a moody presence, like the sky just before the storm breaks. Crafted in solid silver and layered with grand feu enamel, each dial feels charged with tension. A watch shaped by chance, carrying the weight of something brewing.

A Shift in Mood

Like the Tempest Grey before it, the Dark Skies dial begins as a solid sheet of silver, hand-shaped and engraved with a flowing, organic texture. But where the Tempest feels open and windswept, the darker enamel here pulls everything inward. It deepens the shadows, sharpens the light, and turns the soft pattern into something more brooding. Like waves under moonlight or a sky thick with storm. The pale numerals float above it all, calm and precise, offering clarity against the unrest. You could call it the Tempest Grey’s moodier cousin. Still composed. Still quiet. But with an intensity that lingers.

Clarity in Chaos

There’s a quiet tension in the design of the Dark Skies. The dial surface is formed by hand, creating a soft, undulating texture that feels organic and unpredictable. Covered in dark enamel, it takes on a brooding presence. Deep, layered, and full of quiet movement. That richness is contrasted by the minimalist printing. Bright, deliberate, and anchored by the distinctive Hauksbók numerals. A subtle nod to Scandinavian heritage and a defining detail across the entire FH01 line.

A Happy Accident

The Dark Skies began as a happy accident. There was no concept, no intention. Just a darker enamel paired with a familiar texture, and a quiet moment of surprise when it emerged from the kiln. Something about it felt different. Deeper. Like it had caught a fragment of something we didn’t know we were looking for. Not everything worth keeping is planned. And sometimes the best ideas arrive uninvited. If you want to hear the full story, you’ll find it in the video below.
