Introducing the Lunar Exploder — a bold concept watch that embodies innovation, artistry, and a touch of whimsy. This very limited edition was created in collaboration with the Micro Indy Collective (MIC) and is exclusively available to its community members.
The heart of the Lunar Exploder is its dial, which is Vitreum's most three-dimensional creation to date. Crafted from beautiful grey enamel, the dial boasts a deep, intricate texture that shifts appearance depending on the light and angle. The moon-like surface is a visual masterpiece, offering a dynamic play of shadows and highlights that captivates from every viewpoint.
The story behind its name is as compelling as the watch itself. During its creation, the prototype unexpectedly exploded, an incident caused by the excessive amount of enamel used on the dial. This frustrating, but somewhat amusing, incident inspired the name “Lunar Exploder” — a playful nod to both the dial’s celestial aesthetic and the unforgettable event that brought it to life.
A standout feature of the Lunar Exploder is the striking yellow indices that offer a bold contrast against the textured grey dial. The cohesive design extends to the strap, a refined grey Epsom leather adorned with yellow stitching that matches the numerals. This thoughtful attention to detail ties the entire piece together, creating a watch that’s as sophisticated as it is audacious.
The Lunar Exploder is a unique concept watch with thoughtful design elements and a distinctive backstory. Its creative features and craftsmanship make it a special addition for those who appreciate originality and detail.
The pictures were taken by MIC community members during the unveiling of the watch at Perpétuel in Dubai.
