Some ideas begin with a blank sheet of paper.
Others grow naturally from the ones that came before.
 
Following the success of the Firebird, we found ourselves wondering where else the same artistic language could lead. At the same time, we had begun experimenting with a series of opalescent enamels that behaved unlike anything we had worked with before.
 
The two ideas came together almost by themselves.
The result was the Icebird watches.
Two siblings.
One in white.
One in blue.
 
At first glance, the dial appears to be a crisp, icy blue. But as the light moves across the enamel, a soft golden glow begins to emerge from within. Rather than sitting on the surface, the warmth seems to radiate from deep inside the enamel itself, giving the dial an almost milky, luminous quality that is remarkably difficult to capture in photographs.
It is constantly changing. One moment it appears cool and blue. The next, it reveals a warm inner glow that seems to float beneath the enamel itself.
 
We always intended to bring the Icebird into production. Like many exciting ideas, however, other projects gradually took priority, and the concept was quietly set aside.
One of the siblings has already found a home on the wrist of a collector somewhere in the world.
 
The other remained with us.
Until now.
 
For the first time, the blue Icebird has been made available through The Playground.
Whether it remains the only blue Icebird ever created, only time will tell.
